Maxwell Garden Toadstool Trail project and RSA’s Playful Green Planet project updates coming soon… 🌿

Dundee Botanic Garden is our official Toadstool HQ and houses the first permanent trail. It houses a permanent trail of six hand painted toadstool sculptures hidden around their 27 acres of stunning garden and woodland.

There is a WhimSicAL LusH illustrated map and bespoke challenges available at reception for all visitors (small and big). The toadstools and challenges are designed to highlight some of the most wonderful features of the garden and also some that often go unnoticed too. Listen for the birds, marvel at the tall trees, admire all the different leaf shapes, go inside the beautiful old weeping elm tree or run through the willow tunnel. Can you make it to the end of the garden? Then you will have found Panda’s paradise! The Log Kingdom, the perfect spot to sit and think about all the wonder and beauty of the space you have just explored together (or maybe on your own). Or maybe it’s the spot that you swap stories of your favourite finds of the day – with the storyteller sitting on the great log throne!

We are incredibly grateful to Kevin Frediani and his wonderful team for embracing us and our trail and helping us to really see how people would interact with our toadstools.

In celebration of the opening of the trail, the toadstools even had an exhibition in the beautiful secret gallery in the garden, The Green Gallery. It was a real honour to have the whole space for a solo exhibition.

£ How much? There is an entry fee to the gardens but do look out for free entry days on their social media.

Opening Times: 10:30 – 3:30 (check before visiting as times are seasonal and subject to change if there are weather warnings).
