I can shout about another of my @owbigbuckettrail boys ‘Full O’ Beans’ now too!! Here he is next @discoverydundee and @vadundee! He’ll be here for the next 11 weeks and is delighted with his new home... with not just one but two gold buckets to sit on! 🤩 . . He featured in our Dundee launch tour today alongside @islayspalding’s Dazzle and many more! Thanks to all our amazing artists and sponsors who came along to celebrate being part of this incredible project with us! . . Here’s this boy’s story - “Wullie is well known for being full o beans! This sculpture is inspired by Suzanne's studio and the local Dundee coffee merchants. The windows were open one day and the aromas of freshly roasting coffee flooded the studio, which is made up of the same palette of colours. Copper coffee beans cover his #MarrsGreen dungarees, whilst the coffee plant illustrations covering his bucket echo the history of the mills and those who still use them today; like coffee merchants and artists.” . . Today’s @owbigbuckettrail launch day - so that means I can officially unveil ‘Wullie’s Technicolour Dream Dungarees’! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖 . . Wullie is a bit of a dreamer. As he falls asleep his bucket tells the dream of the woods he was playing in that afternoon and all the things he saw. Midnight chimes and his technicolour dungarees show us that he’s wandered into the dreamy world of WhimSicAL LusH, where anything is possible. Rainbow coloured houses, circus tents, creatures and castles are all hiding in this most amazing magical forest - that you can only get to when you fall asleep. . . His summer home is @edencourttheatrecinema isn’t he a lucky boy! . . Oooft! Think this @owbigbuckettrail sculpture for @thearchiefoundation is one of the most colourful things I’ve ever painted. Soooo many layers of paint on this boy! 😍 . . Been a bit of a stress getting him finished on time with so much going on so it’s with a sad sigh that I can’t attend tomorrow’s @waspsdundee market after all but I need to lock myself in the studio to get him finished in time to join all his buddies for photographs. Apologies to the guys for having to cancel and to anyone who was hoping to come say hi. . . THIS Thursday #dundeecolouringclub is back! Hosted by the brilliant @islayspalding and myself as part of @dundeedsgnmonth 🖤 This is the first time I’ve released prints specifically for colouring (I gave in 😆) and Islay has some beauties too. . . “Join WhimSicAL LusH and Islay Spalding for an evening of colour and cake in the WhimSicAL LusH studio! . . Rummage through our coloured pencils and pens and learn how to pick a colour pallet. . . Choose from original drawings by WhimSicAL LusH and Islay printed on quality paper to colour in and take home, A4 size for easy framing. . . Experiment with shading techniques, ways to add detail and different mediums. . . Eat cake, drink tea, have a wee chat and share your work. . . All materials, colouring sheets, tea, coffee, soft drinks and cake from @bubueatwell are provided. . . If you wish to bring your own, go ahead!” . .
