This new Imperial Stout by the fantastic, Livingstone based company, Alechemy Brewing has just been launched featuring a specially commissioned drawing by me!
This label was so much fun to draw with the design brief being “make it twisted, gnarly, impish and a little bit terrifying…. Just like the beer”. My mind immediately harked back to one of my favourite illustrators Arthur Rackham and all the Rip Van Winkle illustrations that had fascinated me as a child. A dream brief!
The bottle reads: “A 10.5% imperial stout brewed with molasses, liquorish and oatmeal. It is fermented with a Belgian yeast and aged for 3 months in 55 year old whisky casks.”
Sounds incredible, tastes amazing and certainly lives up to its name. Not to be taken lightly!
News has it that it is now available from Oddbins.
Enjoy it if you find one in your hands… I know I have!

(and the lovely guys gave me a mention too… thank you Alechemy!).
Cool pic from OddBins over on Twitter!
Another nice little write up about the beer in The Herald Scotland, with a nice thumbs up for the artwork too! 😊
