Sunny Dundee

It’s all in the Dundeetail!

Did you know? Dundee is the only south-facing city in Scotland that regularly clocks up more hours of sunshine than any other. ☀️

2018 saw ‘Sunny Dundee’ becoming a popular term in Dundee with #sunnydundee appearing everywhere – often coupled with bright yellow sunglasses and big smiles.

The Sunny Dundee campaign delivered by Dundee – One City, Many Discoveries was a wonderful invitation to the world to come and explore Scotland’s sunniest city and share their photographs using the #SunnyDundee hashtag on social media.

Since 2018, between projects and commissions, I’ve been stealing time and working away quietly on my Sunny Dundee collection. I love the architecture of our city, especially all its details and enjoy putting my twist on them. I love exploring Dundee – especially in the sunshine and the hidden stories too.

Here are just a few of my favourite buildings (and vessels), both new and old, gathered together in a glorious knotty tangle of lines and detail for my Winter 2019 release. Dundee is well known for its beautiful green spaces so I’ve lined the ‘streets’ with leaves and lilies (Dundee’s flower).

There are two prints options available – with or without the Sunny Dundee text featuring:

The McManus

Mills Observatory

Magdalen Green Bandstand

Cox’s Stack

The Law (and memorial)

V&A Dundee

RRS Discovery

Look out for more of the Sunny Dundee collection that I’ll be releasing in the new year.

The MacManus and Magdalen Green Bandstand are also currently available as separate black and white prints.

Check out my Etsy shop for prints.
